The quest feedback thing is actually being used by a game in development I can not name, very good way of getting feedback imo.

It sucks for devs on one hand they want good feedback and bug reports ,but cracking the whip/revoking access tends to put off people to the game so, so it's a fine line. It actually gets worse as the game progresses. There is less bugs sure but there is still balance and possible exploits to work out.

People just stop trying to break the game and tend to just play for free. Nothing really they can do about it, at least the dead weight is good for stressing the server ;)

Due to the fact that there is no Beta for Pre-ordering like so many other "Gimmicky" Beta test out there, and the only way to get in is via the official sign up or the VIP Beta from Comic Con, it should be fairly obvious to most that the DCUO beta isn't just a demo. That being said, i'm sure there will be some players who don't contribute feedback, but it's the nature of the beast.

If I were running a Beta, I'd have a required Testing form for people to fill out in order to logout. The experience is fresh in the Testers' minds at that point and they could answer some simple Yes or No questions to help capture the data that they don't receive from the actual game.

I really Like that idea, and they should do it.

What's to stop them from doing a manual close of the program with either alt F4 or ctrl alt delete? Hell, I exit most games with alt f4.

I was thinking more like registering their beta code to their email address and then you can send out the survey to them and if they don't respond back by a deadline then their beta code becomes deactivated.

Merged the topics about Beta being mistakenly seen as anything other than a testing run.

I think people are misconceiving the responses of people hoping to get into Beta. I can sincerely say that there is no doubt in my mind that at least 99.99% of people on the Source want to get into Beta. Whether or not it's work, you still want to and would be happy to do it.

If people don't want to put in bugs, they won't. I joined the CO CB really late, so there weren't that many bugs. So, I used the rest of the CB to test powers I wanted, and I was one of the most helpful bug posters for OP powers and broken high level quests. It always comes down to if the player is willing to fill out the bug form.
