Forum Rules

As our website continues to grow, we've decided to implement some basic guidelines for our members to adhere to in order to foster an online community of mutual respect, maturity and fun! Moderation on our Forums has been, and will continue to be light-handed. By following these rules, we'll continue to do so, while our community flourishes.


~Signature Images:

Signatures are a great way to personalize one's posts on the forums. However the forums are here to discuss various aspects of DCUO and it's related content (i.e. Comics, Video Games, etc.) As such, signatures should not contain any inappropriate content such as adult material, propaganda or advertising for the sale of products or services.

~NO Flaming

As stated previously, we harbor a community of mutual respect here and we encourage intelligent discussion and debate. In that vein, anything that is used as a personal attack against another member is prohibited. Follow the Golden rule here and don't post anything harmful towards another member...Or suffer a fate worse than death...the Banhammer!

~Spamalot

We want to hear what you have to say. These forums are an open discussion about all things DC Universe Online; That being said, useless posts that are there to fluff one's post count are not allowed. Make sure that your posts provide substantial and constructive content to further the discussion or inquire about the subject.

~No Advertising

Obviously, advertising spam such as Pharms, Adult Content, etc. is strictly forbidden and will be deleted. However we are here for the Community and Discussion of DCUO and not to simply advertise your own agenda, commisions or services. That being said, you can link to your to own gallery or website in you signature, but please refrain from mentioning your wares or prices directly. A simple "Check my Gallery" or "Go to my website" will suffice.


~Behave yourself!

DC Universe Online is a Superhero MMO, including the most popular and well known characters of the genre and as such, the game will draw a massive audience from all different ages and demographics and walks of life. Please keep your posts free from Adult Content & Illegal Activities and please keep Cursing to a minimum. Always use basic etiquette and courtesy.


~On topic!

We've organized the forums to easily identify which areas one should post each particular subject. If it's a general DCUO inquiry or newsbite, the topic would be found in Metropolis; while Comicbook related topics are found in Gotham, and so on. Please keep all Off Topic posts in the dedicated forum. Make life easier for the Mods and gain favor among the Elite


~ZOMG a DEVZ?

We're incredibly fortunate enough to have the honor of the actual Developers of DC Universe Online, employed at SOE Austin visiting our forums regularly and posting frequently. Because we have this distinct exclusive over any other site, we are sensitive to what makes the experience enjoyable for them as well as you all. With this in mind, we must insist that you Not contact the devs directly through PMs or by creating threads that specifically call out a Developer Or SOE as a whole. If you have a question in mind, post it to the appropriate forum and hope it will gain the attention for it to be answered or better yet submit a question to "Ask SOE!". Any members that are found in violation of this rule will be dealt with accordingly.

Private Eyes...

Our Private Message feature is a helpful feature. You can communicate directly with other members without ever leaving the site, or having any additional contact information. But communication made between Private Messages is done in the unsaid confidence that the information is, well...Private. Please do not duplicate, quote or reprint information shared through PM's. It's in bad taste, and is poor forum etiquette.


Beware the Necromancer

We have new additions to the Forums all of the time, and some members weren't around to experience the older discussions. If you encounter an old subject you'd like to discuss, feel free to create a new topic, and you can even reference the old topic with a link. Please refrain from reviving any old threads though. Anything older than 6 months should stay in the archives. No necro'ing please.


Troll Busters

This rule is very easy. No Trolls. No Trolling, No Troll-like activity. What is a Troll? "Someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community", like our Forums "with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion". To put simply: Don't Do It.

In general, our forums are populated with mature, intelligent and interesting people that are here for their interest in DCUO. All that we ask is that you treat your fellow Gamer as you want to be treated. Our moderation style is faairly light, but there are certain issues that we must enforce, for the continued prosperity of our community. Thank You!
